Welcome to the web site dedicated to the restoration of a Southern Railway, 25 ton “Pill Box” Brake Van, No 55550. The vehicle is based on the Nene Valley Railway in England and is currently stored in their wagon compound adjacent to Peterborough (Nene Valley) station. This site shows the progress on restoration, the history of 55550 and other materiel on Southern brake vans in general. My aim is to have Brandon fit for return to traffic as soon as possible with other less critical restoration taking place whilst in traffic.
